Like you, I have made the mistake of using mundane and boring topic headers; why do I call this a mistake?

Well, even before another reads your hook sentence or your opening line, they would read your topic header. If yours is run of the mill, just like all the others, how does that make your content different?

  • 5 laptops under $100
  • 5 cheap laptops under $100
  • 5 affordable laptops under $100

These look all the same to the reader; what’s the difference?

Now, this is what I am talking about. Let’s discuss how to make your headers bold, catchy, and attention-grabbing.

What Your Header Needs:

There are formulas available on the internet that bloggers and marketers alike have come up with to make their headers attractive; USE THEM!

Understand what your header needs and try to incorporate those points in your header.

  • Numbers/Facts
  • Adjective
  • Keyword
  • The action
  • The promise

These are vital points all header/topic need and a little creative magic; the blend will get you the perfect header for your blog/content/article.

Take Inspiration from the Headers You See All Day Long:

As a writer, we come across tons of material, but do we take notes? I know I do, and you haven’t started yet; TODAY should be a start.

Whichever aspect of writing you want to improve, try researching it more; if you find research boring, just casually search stuff and read. While reading, take notes, soon you will get in the habit of taking mental notes of the things you like.

The title inspiration can come from anywhere, if it grabs your attention, not it down. YouTube, Buzzfeed, Social Media, Emails, magazines, there is a world of information and inspiration out there, waiting for you to grab it.

Give Yourself Multiple Choices:

I don’t remember who told me this, but I am sure someone did; give yourself choices. Have multiple titles for one blog and see which one you like better. If you have the kind of buddies I do, ask them to choose for you.

Having choices will help you select the best one, and it will also help you create sample sets. We know most writers are in a hurry to meet deadlines, but here’s the thing, are you working for money or passion?

Writing has always been my passion, so I will spend time, as much as I can, to make my pieces better. And if this means I have to spend extra 20 minutes to perfect my title, I will not shy away from it.

Bottom Line:

Before your hook the sentence, your title is what grabs the attention; remember this one thing when you are writing your next blog.

That’s all for today, people! I shall post soon if you want me. The thing with sharing knowledge is, you either revive what you have learned already, or you learn something new while searching for the best way to deliver your knowledge.
